Suzuki Celerio 2017

The Suzuki Celerio is a compact hatchback yet spacious inside, but creating this space has resulted in some fairly bland, square styling on the outside. Indeed, all versions come with five doors as standard, along with relative luxuries including alloy wheels, air-con, a DAB radio, Bluetooth and electric front windows.

Suzuki Celerio’s cabin is built from hard and unforgiving materials. Even by the relatively low standards of this city car class, moreover, Celerio’s interior looks and feels decidedly cheap. Everything seems well bolted together, but the plastics aren’t textured in a particularly appealing way and the plastic steering wheel feels low-rent, too. Celerio comes with a height-adjustable driver’s seat, which is rare in the city car class. The seat is easy to adjust, but it could do with a bit more side and lower back (lumbar) support. The dashboard is relatively easy to get to grips with, thanks to the simple rotary controls for the heater. The Celerio is equipped with a high-tech color touchscreen to access all these features, on the other hand. The Celerio’s stereo gets a small display on it, but it’s monochrome and difficult to read, making it relatively tricky to change albums, or find the person you want to dial in your phonebook. At least the screen is flanked by chunky, well-labelled shortcut buttons, and there are separate controls for the Bluetooth system on the steering wheel.

The Suzuki Celerio comes with six airbags: two ahead of the driver and front passenger, one either side of the front occupants to protect the upper body, and head-level side-curtain airbags extending past both rows of seats. There is the mandatory electronic stability control, with anti-lock brakes. Active safety is aided by the excellent vision out, which maximizes your ability to see other road users and reduces fatigue.

However, no reversing camera is available, even as an option. Nor can you get auto emergency braking, or any other active driver-assist technology.

The Suzuki Celerio 2017 is available in the following configurations:
